Terbutaline Sulphate IP 1.25 mg

Guaiphenesin IP 50mg

Menthol IP 2.5mg1

Ambroxol HCl IP 15mg is a mucolytic agent that helps thin mucus. It works by breaking down the acid mucopolysaccharide fibers, which makes the sputum thinner and less viscous, thereby promoting mucus clearance2,3. It is used in the treatment of respiratory tract disorders associated with viscid mucus. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, and upset stomach. Drug interactions may occur with acetyl sulfisoxazole, amiodarone, apalutamide, aprepitant, asunaprevir, atazanavir, atomoxetine, atorvastatin, boceprevir, bortezomib, bosentan, bosutinib, bromocriptine, cabergoline, carbamazepine, ceritinib, cerivastatin, clarithromycin, clemastine, clotrimazole, cobicistat, conivaptan, crizotinib, curcumin1.

Terbutaline Sulphate IP 1.25 mg is a bronchodilator that is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm (wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing) in people with lung conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, or emphysema. It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily4. Drug interactions may occur with beta-blockers, such as atenolol, carteolol, labetalol, metoprolol, nadolol, propranolol, sotalol, carvedilol, timolol and certain diuretics5,6.

Guaiphenesin IP 50mg is an expectorant that works by decreasing the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways7,8. It is used in the treatment of cough with mucus. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, and upset stomach. Drug interactions may occur with duloxetine, phenylephrine, albuterol, antibiotics (erythromycin, doxycycline, cefuroxime, amoxicillin), water pills (furosemide), bronchodilators (albuterol, formoterol, vilanterol), anti-sickness drug (ondansetron), steroids (prednisone, budesonide)9,10.

Menthol IP 2.5mg primarily activates the cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors in the skin. It causes a feeling of coolness due to stimulation of ‘cold’ receptors by inhibiting Ca++ currents of neuronal membranes. It may also yield analgesic properties via kappa-opioid receptor agonism. It is primarily used to relieve symptoms of bronchitis, sinusitis, and similar conditions. It is commonly used with camphor and eucalyptus oil for relieving nasal congestion.
